CEO and Founder
Paulo Shakarian, Ph.D., is CEO of CYR3CON™. Paulo is also a Fulton Entrepreneurial Professor at Arizona State University – a position that allows him to focus on entrepreneurial and technology transition efforts. He has written numerous articles in scientific journals and has authored several books, including Elsevier’s Introduction to Cyber-Warfare and Cambridge’s forthcoming Darkweb Cyber Threat Intelligence Mining. Recently, his work was featured in major news media including Forbes, the New Yorker, Slate, The Economist, Business Insider, TechCrunch, and the BBC. He was named a “KDD Rising Star” by Microsoft Research Asia, is a New America Fellow and recipient of the Air Force Young Investigator award, DURIP award, DoD Minerva award, FOSINT-SI Best Paper, MIT Tech. Review “Best of 2013”, and was a DARPA Service Chief’s Fellow. Previously, Paulo was an officer in the U.S. Army where he served two combat tours in Iraq, earning a Bronze Star and the Army Commendation Medal for Valor. He also previously worked as an Assistant Professor at West Point. Paulo holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in computer science from the University of Maryland, College Park and a B.S in computer science from the U.S.Military Academy at West Point.
President and Founder
Jana Shakarian is President of CYR3CON™. Jana is a sociologist and anthropologist specializing in the behavior of hacking groups through their activity on the deep web. She has co-authored two books, Elsevier’s Introduction to Cyber-Warfare and Springer’s Computational Analysis of Terrorist Groups: Lashkar-e-Tabia and Cambridge’s forthcoming Darkweb Cyber Threat Intelligence Mining. Previously, she worked as a staff social scientist for the University of Maryland Institute for Advanced Computer Studies (UMIACS) where she worked on major projects funded by the U.S. Air Force and Lockheed Martin. She has also previously worked as a consultant for the West Point Network Science Center and as a researcher for the Kriminalwissenschaftliches Institut des BKA (the German equivalent to the FBI) where she worked on issues dealing with human trafficking and right wing extremism. She holds an M.A. in Sociology and Cultural and Social Anthropology from the Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, Germany.
Geoff Stoker, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President
Geoff Stoker is a Senior Vice President for Customer Support at CYR3CON™. An Army veteran, Geoff has over 20 years’ experience as an information technology leader and computer scientist. His career has included positions as Senior Web Systems Manager (NATO HQ, Brussels), Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the 82nd Airborne Division (during which he served 15 months in Afghanistan), and Assistant Professor at the U.S. Military Academy (West Point). Geoff holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Vice President for Business Development
Gunnar Light, is VP for Sales and Marketing of CYR3CON™. He has over 25 years of experience in international sales, marketing and business development management working with technology companies ranging from startups to Fortune 20. Over his global career, he has negotiated deals and managed projects in over 130 countries, covering Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Russia, Latin America and the Caribbean. From the roles of CEO, EVP, EGM, MD Worldwide Sales and Marketing and MD International, Gunnar has led software teams to expand global coverage into new markets and industries, building company value and generating profitable revenues. Additionally, Mr. Light has 17 years of experience working in the security industry with certification in Intelligence Gathering, Analysis and Cyber Security. Gunnar is a graduate from the Thunderbird School of Global Management with a concentration in Global Trade, as well as from Arizona State University’s MBA program, with a concentration on Supply Chain Management and Global Marketing.
Chief Financial Officer
Vickie Wittie serves as Chief Financial Officer for Cyr3con, having joined the team in 2017. Vickie was most recently CFO for Tallwave, LLC and its portfolio of companies including their fund created in 2013 to fund technology start-ups, the consulting arm that provides services for start-ups that allow them to turn great ideas in to successful ventures, and Ethology, Inc., a digital marketing agency. Prior to Tallwave, Vickie was the CFO for Unicorn Media, Inc., the leading provider of Internet video solutions that enable companies to maximize IP video profitability. Unicorn was successfully acquired in 2014 by the leading video hosting and publishing platform. Prior to that, Vickie was one of five starting employees, serving as Controller and CFO for Limelight Networks, one of the world’s largest content delivery network providers. Vickie earned an MBA from The Pennsylvania State University in 2008.

Jana Shakarian is a member of the Board of Directors as well as President and Founder of
Steve Phillips is a CYR3CON™ board advisor. Between 2005 and 2016, he was CIO for Avnet Inc, a $26B (FY16 revenue) Fortune 500 global company and one of the world’s largest distributors of electronic components and computer products serving more than 100,000 customers in more than 115 countries. Mr. Phillips was previously CIO at Memec and at Gateway Inc. Earlier in his career he was the IT leader for Diageo’s European foods business and also served in a number of engineering and operational leadership roles at Thorn EMI. In 2015, Mr. Phillips was inducted into the CIO Hall of Fame, a lifetime achievement award that honors IT executives and visionaries whose leadership has significantly impacted the field of IT. Additionally, he received an HMG Strategy Transformational CIO Leadership Award in 2012 and was named a Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leader in 2011. Mr. Phillips was elected to the board of directors at Wick Communications, a news and specialty publications company, in 2011 and elected chairman in 2012. Between 2008 through 2011, he served as chairman of the board of the Arizona Technology Council, a trade association that represents Arizona's technology industry. Mr. Phillips holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Essex and a post-graduate Diploma in Management Studies from the University of West London. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
